Katie Swanson grew up in Boring, Oregon and moved to Klamath Falls in April 2016. Her passion for building food systems led her to volunteer with Blue Zones Project on the food policy committee where she led the first Find Your Farmer – an event to bring together local commercial food buyers and Klamath Basin farmers and ranchers. Katie has worked on sustainable vegetable farms for the past three years and runs her own small farm in town as well as heads the Klamath Falls Food Buying Club. A former high school Spanish teacher, her background in education has aided her work abroad in Latin America on various community development projects. In her free time, she loves to be outside, especially on her farm with her husband, Dallas, her dog, cats, pigs and chickens.
